Who are we ?

If the Heritage Days have existed for decades, the Heritage Days were missing in Belgium. Initiated in Paris from 2015, the Matrimony Days are spreading in France… and now in Brussels since 2019. On the initiative of the non-profit organization.

'L’architecture qui dégenre’, the Matrimoine Days will take place in Brussels on 23, 24 and 25 September 2022. Since the end of 2021, the Matrimoine Season has also been in full swing. This takes place from October 2021 to June 2022 and includes around thirty activities spread over the year, generally taking place on Sundays at 2 p.m.

(…) The entire program thus makes it possible to account for the participation of women* and gender minorities in the many professions related to heritage. In order to strengthen our range of activities, we have also set up, since 2021, an annual program: the Matrimoine Season. This offers Brussels residents more than thirty activities. On the program: guided tours, workshops, exhibitions, screenings and even more content to discover our matrimonial heritage. The idea: to participate, on an ongoing basis, in raising awareness and training the public with regard to heritage.

All typefaces used in the communication for the Matrimoine 2021–22 season have been exclusively created by female designers/typeface designers and are distributed independently and/or by them under commercial or free license. Their use aims not only to celebrate their talent but also to make visible the work of women typographers and/or type designers in a world where it is still too under-represented.
