Sonic Space Basel is the platform of the FHNW Academy of Music Basel for composition, improvisation, contemporary music performance, audio design, and research—a laboratory, communication tool, and information hub for contemporary music. The new branding is based on a modular system that can be used variably. The series includes five defined colors, three of which are used for each print product.
Since the 2019–2020 season, Stuttgart-based Studio Collect is in charge of the visual identity of the space. They created a flexible system combining vivid color blocks and chaotic text compositions set with Euclid Circular A. This system is declined over concert posters, printed material and the institution’s website.
Both 2019–2020 and 2020–2021 seasons have respectively been awarded by a Certificate of Typographic Excellence by the Type Directors Club.
