Land der Dichterinnen

The name of this project refers to the (self-)description of Germany as the “country of poets and thinkers”. What is called the “generic masculine” in German grammar, indicates that all acclaimed poets and thinkers referred to are or were exclusively cis, white and male.
This poetry booklet therefore is dedicated to 20 women, who wrote or are writing poetry in German language. Each page sheds light on a female poet, on one of her works and provides context to her life.Some works are of feminist, anti-racist nature while others reflect the poets dealing with their everyday lives as a women in the respective era.
