In 2001, the group Temporary Services invited their friend Angelo, a prisoner in California, to write about and draw the different things he had seen the other prisoners invent. Angelo’s illustrations and writings were eventually published in the first edition of Prisoners’ Inventions in 2003. This book reveals an often-neglected side of prison existence: the need to create objects and experiences that allow the most basic human desires to be satisfied. We were thrilled to be able to design this new and expanded edition of the book, showcasing Angelo’s huge volume of illustrations. Published by Half Letter Press.
