Typographic eclecticism is the main feature of the typographic identity of the Maximilian Hotel in Salzburg by Studio Bruch (Kurt Glänzer, Josef Heigl). Three typefaces, Millionaire (Altiplano), ToY (Out of the Dark) and LL Grey (Lineto, Aurele Sack), take turns to lead the way.
What is the origin of such an original mix of fonts? Is it to stand out from the international style – eclecticism is one of the features of postmodernism – or perhaps to refer to the press advertising of the early twentieth century?
The combination of colors, shapes and fonts defintely ensures both consistency and richness.
