A 23-inch square poster from 1966 promoting the first solo exhibition of artist/sculptor, Donald Judd, at Leo Castelli Gallery in New York City. The type is set in one size of all-caps Univers 65, spaced to justify each line, filling the poster with only type. The simple composition of the poster matches Judd’s art which is commonly associated with minimalism (though he rejected the label).

From the Judd Foundation:

Donald Judd designed the poster for his first solo exhibition at Leo Castelli Gallery, New York (February 5 – March 2, 1966). Artist-designed exhibition posters were a signature part of the program for this influential gallery, which represented artists such as Lee Bontecou, Dan Flavin, Claes Oldenburg, James Rosenquist, and Cy Twombly. Judd exhibited regularly with Leo Castelli in dozens of solo and group shows through the 1980s.
