Electronic Crossovers is a series of events organized by the Pera Museum in collaboration with the Istanbul-based music collective AEVOM. The theme of this event series focuses on the creation process of electronic music, opening new areas in human life, and the changes in the structure of music. With this new structure, electronic music interacts with fields such as technology, art, literature, psychology, and the environment. It simply acts as a crossover.
The design and creative process were prepared and implemented by me, Pera Museum’s creative director, Volkan Şenozan.
The purple figure featured on the brochure’s design symbolizes the concept of the psyche in the machine. In this context, the word “machine” refers to the device that electronic music has produced. “Psyche” refers to the person and the intervention of the human into the device. In this case, we can perceive the human as the essence of the machine while making the music. It is like the soul in our body but in a different form.
The title and the quote are set in Apoc by Blaze Type. It is paired with Gilroy, a sans serif used on the body text and designed by Radomir Tinkov.
