Intern Mag is a platform empowering the next generation of creatives to build their dream careers. Through editorial, media and education, they provide young creatives with the tools they need to navigate their professional journey with confidence.
Intern started as a bi-annual independent publication focused on intern culture and internships in the creative industries. In a strive of differentiation, founder and editor-in-chief Alec Dudson wanted the magazine to represent the voices of interns and to become a platform to help them showcase their work, with the aim of being hired:
Since launching Intern in 2013 we’ve worked with universities around the world to deliver innovative, engaging sessions, informed by industry experience, that help to prepare students for life in the professional realm.
Intern Mag invites its readers to reflect about the situation of young professionals working in the creative industries: just ten years ago, people could not expect to work unpaid before securing a paid position in their respective industry; whereas nowadays it is a seemingly accepted as part of a proper career path that very few question.
Intern’s website was designed by London-based Extract Studio in 2019. The fonts in use are Marr Sans Condensed by Commercial Type for headlines and navigation, nicely combined with Zenon by CAST Foundry for paragraphs and short texts.
