The creative practice eschenlauer sinic has been commissioned to draw the wordmark for the plastic artist Emma Seferian.
Born in 1997, Emma Seferian is an artist and DJ living and working in Brest. Her practice revolves around site-specific installations and painting. Her work deals with the themes of memory in our living spaces. Her sensitive approach to spaces, colours, sounds and smells leads her to study the question of the manufacture of objects, their provenance and their use.
The logo is a free interpretation of the LSC Condensed typeface designed and developed in 1970 by Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase. It mixes the regular and italic styles to evoke a unique signature and the versatility of the mediums used by the artist. The lettering is a counterpoint to Emma’s work: it stands out from her gentle, sensitive universe and adds a statutory, institutional dimension to her identity.
