Rot and Redemption is a quiet, three-year experimentation in writing and memory. Wide-open eyes, interpretations of place, and passing time shaped over 60 autobiographical pieces. Stories, images, and poems range in subject but are unified by common, very human themes specific to a time and place in the American South.
The headline typeface is Ryman Eco, a typeface by Dan Rhatigan and Gunnar Vilhjálmsson for office supply shop Ryman. The typeface was designed to save ink when printed in small sizes. In this project, the ink-saving cuts are used as a display feature. The body text is set in Bembo.
