Movie posters for the 1980 musical comedy The Blues Brothers, directed by John Landis and starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. The film is based upon the American blues and soul band of the same name which was originally founded by Belushi and Aykroyd in 1978 for a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live.

For the US poster, designed by Seiniger Advertising, the film’s title, billing, tagline and credit block are all set in Goudy Oldstyle.

For the British and International posters, the film’s title is based on Portly, very tightly spaced with slight rotation to certain glyphs, adding some rhythm for a more playful, bouncier feel. The above-title billing, tagline and credit block are set in Rockwell. This same type combination can also be seen on some localized posters for specific regions, such as the Spanish poster.
