In the 1970s, modernist Bob van Allen created fun patterns and colors for Mikasa housewares.

This 31cm-diameter stoneware plate, with its orange and chocolate brown stripes filled with tight-not-touching Cooper Black, may have been inspired by Tootsie Roll candy branding.
