Stand! is the 1969 album from Sly and the Family Stone, a popular band that mixed soul, funk, rock, and pop influences, and was noted for the diversity of their line-up, at a time when it was still highly unusual for black and white men and women to all perform together. The album contains several of their biggest hits, such as “I Want To Take You Higher”, “Sing A Simple Song”, and the title track.
Richard Mantel did the cover design, using a version of Thorowgood Sans Shaded for the type. The photographic montage is credited to Fred Lombardi.
