This book is a gift for the 70th birthday of Katalin Bakos, a leading figure in Hungary’s art and graphic design history. It contains essential new research findings in the field of Hungarian art and design history by her colleagues, students and friends.
The book’s cover is an homage to Gábor Papp’s poster design for the Budapest International Fair held in 1970. It uses ITC Edwardian Script for similar reasons: this typeface refers to a series of exhibition posters (see one example here) by Gábor Papp, whose life and works Katalin currently researches.
The names with the UV coating are artists Katalin Bakos was interested in and researched extensively.
The running text is set with the Pannon Next font family (including Pannon Next Sans) made by Oszkár Boskovitz, which is a digital revival and reimagination of Pannon Antikva by Edit Zigány.
