The Berlin-based startup Faircado has made it their mission to end unnecessary overproduction, by making secondhand the first choice. The team created a browser extension that works in both online stores and search engines. Once installed, a pop up shows a secondhand or refurbished option offered on a partner platform. This way, buying secondhand or refurbished products becomes easy, which saves resources and money.
New Standard Studio chose a duo of sans serif typefaces, an humanist sans and a grotesque in a surprising combination. Reymund Schroeder’s NaN Hyena Noon is used in its Bold weight for the logo and headlines. The Narrow subfamily of Alex Slobzheninov’s Right Grotesk is used – in Light and Bold – for all subheaders an running texts. The identity itself is quite minimalist in essence, mostly based on the typographic duo with a strong tricolor (white, black, green) color palette. This economy of shapes associated with the lowercase name might be there to evoke the frugality the startup is advocating for.
