Title pages from a two volume set of influential drafting guides title The Tailors’ Guide. A Complete System of Cutting Every Kind of Garment to Measure, edited by by Louis Devere and Charles Compaing and published by Simpkin, Marshall, & Company, London, in 1856. These books remain influential today in reproduction clothing circles. The Merchant Tailor Museum announced a reprint of the book.

The title is in Rustic No. 2 by Figgins, with open shadow. There is also a Modern/Scotch in roman and italic, a Clarendon/Ionic, and an unidentified condensed slab serif.
