Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders is a game that was first released in 1988 – and therefore constitutes one of the earliest known uses of this font in computer games. Cartoon 12 can be seen on the side of a biplane which reads “Divine Wind Tours”. It was released on several different consoles, the best-looking port being the Japanese-exclusive FM Towns release in 1990. (This same version would be released worldwide much later thanks to online gaming platforms such as Steam and GOG). The two versions shown here both make use of the Cartoon 12 font.
