Poster design by Balmer Hählen for the exhibition Traînard, Daniel Ruggiero and special guests at Palais des Paris, Takasaki, Japan.

Invited for an artistic residency, Lausanne’s Daniel Ruggiero brought along the works of Vaud state artists for an exhibition based on urban culture. He had given carte blanche to his friends, some of the finest names on the contemporary scene, such as Sandrine Pelletier, Denis Rouèche, Elise Gagnebin-de Bons, Eric Martinet, Balmer Hählen, all artists, designers and tattoo artists, to customize a skateboard for him.

It is one of the first uses of the Rotaitalic style of Angela typeface (recently updated with new weight and italic styles). Smaller text is set in another typeface from newglyph: Antarctica. The typeface used for Japanese text is Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Gothic.

The photograph used in the poster was shot by by Yoann Roux.
