Remember Dancing? An event at Tiivistämö dedicated to celebrating Rony Rex’s remarkable ten-year career, alongside Finland’s foremost collectives. An evening that bridges the timeless and the contemporary, as artists curate exclusive all-time favorites from their collections. These one-of-a-kind back-to-back sets can’t be found anywhere else. The design and typography for this project were meticulously crafted by me, Julian Grönberg, art director at Simbayu Studios, under the creative direction of Rony Rex. In contrast to the vibrant and colorful world typically associated with Rony Rex, this event unfolds under the cover of night, embodying a character born from the enigmatic symbol of a question mark. The design elements cleverly integrate the curves of two question marks, one forming the character’s body and the other serving as its arms. This duality is also reflected in the logo, where mirrored question marks intersect. The typeface, boldly chosen, is T1 Zirbal in both its regular and bold variants, adding a striking visual element to the overall design.
