Din pust, din stemme (“Your Breath, Your Voice”) is the catalogue for the exhibition of the same name, displaying posters collected during the Black Lives Matter/George Floyd protests in Oslo. The graphic design strategy is almost the same as a political pamphlet, guiding the reader between speeches, oral history interviews, and diverse articles activated by documentary imagery.
The typography breathes in and out with urgency through an extended use of HEX Franklin, including custom cuts with various degrees of compression, sometimes set for reading, other times set for compelling the reader towards revolt and action. Every single design decision in this book means something: from the size that is meant for the hand in transit, to the red thread and exposed binding showing the names of people who lost their lives to police brutality, to the golden ink celebrating the work and struggle of black activists.
