Pain in My Heart marks the first album of soul singer Otis Redding, who recorded the album for Volt Records, a subsidiary of Stax Records headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. The album was originally in 1964 on ATCO Records, with a different cover designed by Loring Eutemey, using Grotesque No. 9. The image shown here is from a late 1960's reissue also credited to Eutemey on the back.
