Dezen Stencil is the typeface used for Komunál, a community pub in Stupava, Slovakia. Designer Ivana Palečková comments:
Komunal has come a long way from being a punk’s meeting point. Now it is a family place but the street attitude will always remain. For me the strongest element of the identity is location. The former communal services yard has a magnificent large tree in its centre. I used a stylized leaf in the logotype. The mini palm tree also dominates the skatepark which is a part of the area. As a reference to the punk past I used a stencil application and stylization of the graphics. By the way, I used to work there as a waitress when I was a teenager…
