The Best of Whim Wham

Renaissance Books, New Zealand:

Published by Paul’s Book Arcade, Hamilton, 1959.

“Whim Wham has appeared every Saturday for more than twenty years in ‘The Press’, Christchurch; in The Press and the New Zealand Herald since 1951; and less regularly over the years in the Southland Times, Invercargill. To these newspapers, in which he had enjoyed perfect liberty to amuse, provoke, bewilder or enlighten so many thousands of his fellow New Zealanders, as the mood or the weekly deadline seizes him, he offers his grateful acknowledgments.” — from the rear wrapper blurb.

“Whim Wham” was Allen Curnow’s pen-name for his satirical poetry column.
