From November 2024 until February 2025, the Villa Schöningen in Potsdam, Germany, is hosting a series of events with various participants to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall (“Interventionen zu 35 Jahre Mauerfall”). The series is curated by Pola van den Hövel and its online campaign, set in HAL Timezone by HAL Typefaces, was designed by Marina Engelhardt. Villa Schöningen’s identity and logo, created by Studio Pandan, are set in Antarctica by Ian Party, available from newglyph.

From the institution’s instagram post:

In November our new event series “Interventions on 35 years since the Fall of the Berlin Wall” will begin. The diverse events will focus on the villa and the Glienicke Bridge as sites of historical significance during the GDR era and the reunification. From November 2024 to February 2025, you can expect regular programming at Villa Schöningen!

Through various formats, the emotional, political, and cultural aspects of this historic milestone will be highlighted, and you’re warmly invited to engage with the theme both intense and emotionally. The formats include a historical tour of the villa, artist talks, a creative session, an artist led tour and a reading.
