Tatort Bobstadt (“Crime scene Bobstadt”) is the title of an A4 brochure that was designed by moteus and published as a supplement to the local newspaper.
In the early morning of April 20, 2022, the police wanted to confiscate an illegal firearm belonging to “Reichsbürger” Ingo K. in Bobstadt. When the special task force SEK tried to open a shutter on his patio door with a grinder, shots were fired. After more than 30 days of trial, the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court is convinced: K. shot to kill several SEK officers based on his “Reichsbürger” ideology.
On November 15, 2023, Ingo K. was sentenced to 14 years and six months in prison. The verdict is not yet final. The federal prosecution and defense have announced that they will appeal the verdict. This means that the Federal Court of Justice will review the verdict for possible legal errors.
Recherche Nordwürttemberg has now published the 50-page brochure Tatort Bobstadt. What happened on April 20, 2022. The author is Timo Büchner, who has been researching the extreme right in the Main-Tauber district for several years and attended all 33 days of the trial at Stuttgart Higher Regional Court.
The brochure provides information about “Reichsbürger” in Germany and presents what has become known about the crime and its background during the trial against Ingo K.. Mayor Heidrun Beck and Prof. Dr. Matthias Quent, who has been researching “Reichsbürger” and neo-Nazis in Germany for years, have their say in the brochure.
