Battlefield 6 is a multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Battlefield Studios and published by Electronic Arts. It was released on October 10th, 2025 as the 18th installment in the Battlefield franchise. The game takes place within a fictional 2027/2028 where global order has eroded beyond repair and a large-scale conflict between a fractured NATO and Pax Armata-a private military company would engulf the world.
Battlefield 6 is the second game in the franchise to entirely use custom typefaces, the first being Battlefield 5. All of the fonts here are designed in-house by DICE and EA [edit: this is disputed, see comments].
BF Body is the primary typeface used in Battlefield 6 for, evidently, body text. This isn’t the first time this font has been used in a Battlefield game however, as it was first used in Battlefield 5, then Battlefield 2042, before evolving into its current incarnation. The font is based on the open-source Barlow, which I think is pretty neat. BF Heading is the secondary typeface, used on the occasional short-text or headline. The design is seemingly based on BF Body but with a more octagonal and technical look.
BF Display is an all-caps condensed design reserved exclusively for display text. It is not used during gameplay but is used elsewhere. Its design is very reminiscent of typefaces like Compacta and seems to be based on Battlefield’s logotype, though it isn’t an exact match. BF Utility, a monospaced typeface is used as additional decorative flavor. It isn’t used in the game but is used in all other promotional material.
While these typefaces have dramatically different designs, they do share characteristics such as the slashed zero, the centered tail on the capital Q, lowercase t without a tail, and a generally more squared design.

I believe Wolff Olins worked with A2 to design the custom type so “All of the fonts here are designed in-house by DICE and EA.” is incorrect.
Looks like a custom version of Beckett but thats just a guess.
See Wolff Olins’ post from November 2025, titled “Reloading the future of Battlefield”
Thanks! I have added Wolff Olins to the design credits.
As for the origin of the fonts: I haven’t seen the fonts and can’t speak to this question. Alex, do you have access to font files? If yes, can you see if there’s any info in the meta data?
A2-TYPE doesn’t seem to mention such a custom job on their website, but that doesn’t mean much.
I have access to them from the game’s website but other than BF Body, which additionally includes “Modifications are Copyright (c) 2018 Electronic Arts, Inc.”, there is no information in the metadata.
Thanks for checking, Alex.
