Typenite was an event that took place in the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) where design luminaries like Abbott Miller, Tal Leming and Ellen Lupton explored type at work on the printed page, the screen and the built environment through individual presentations, and celebrated the release of Abbott Miller’s new book, Design And Content, as well as MICA’s new book, Type on Screen (edited by Ellen Lupton).
The identity and the posters for the event use Tal Leming’s upcoming type family, Queue, in its first use. The body text is typeset in Typotheque’s fantastic workhorse, Lava.
The web presence was created to make the event easy to share on social media so web friendly extensions of the printed posters were created. The website is responsive, to be equally engaging on small and large devices. Lava and Queue fit well for this purpose. The website was designed with Alex Jacque who also programmed it.
