I’ve adjusted the date. According to ISFDB, this edition (T4758) is from 1971 (“Third printing stated. No publication date”), with a cover by Bob Pepper. “The artist is not credited; no visible signature. Cover credited by Vincent Di Fate in Infinite Worlds.”
There’s an earlier edition from Signet, T3800. “First Printing, March, 1969 […] The artist is not credited; there is a signature on the artwork, begins with ‘Opa…’ [?] but the rest is not legible.” The primary typeface on that one is Futura Black.
Nice find on Robert Pepper! Some nice type on his covers, too. Will have to delve into that one day!
