Parachutes is the debut studio album by the British rock band Coldplay. It was released on 10 July 2000 by Parlophone in the United Kingdom and on 7 November 2000 by Nettwerk in the United States.
Design by Coldplay, assisted by Mark Tappin at Blue Source.
Incidentally, their album X&Y seems to use a non-standard Metro-ish ampersand, which I think looks much nicer than the rather fussy Albertus one. A quick search on MyFonts doesn’t show an obvious candidate for a source.
This looks to come from the alternative ampersand available in the metal Albertus. Not a match – the bar in the Coldplay amp is a bocky rectangle – but certainly inspired. I don’t think the alt is available in any digital version.

The ampersand looks a lot like the one in ITC Serif Gothic.
