Atlas Film + Medien GmbH is an independent film distributor in Duisburg and is considered one of Germany’s oldest film companies. They rereleased many Hollywood films in Germany, starting with High Noon around 1960. The posters were designed by the husband-and-wife duo of Fritz A. Fischer and Dorothea Fischer-Nosbisch. The studio also created Atlas Film’s logo — a cropped Helvetica ‘a’, highlighting the teardrop counters of the letter — which is still in use today. See a larger version of the logo on Atlas Film’s Third Man poster.
