Archie Boston Jr.'s logo for the Bicentennial Black Achievement Exhibit features two hands clasped together. The wordmark below is rendered in caps from Soul Medium, a geometric sans designed by Jerry Matejka in 1972. It’s used with two forms for the letter A.

The Bicentennial Black Achievement Exhibit was shown at the California Museum of Science and Industry in Los Angeles, California, in May 1975, as part of the United States Bicentennial festivities. The exhibit “depicted people, issues and events shaping Black achievements in the U.S. since 1492.”

In 2021, when Boston received the AIGA Medal, Silas Munro put together an article about his life and work for AIGA Eye on Design.
