Oppvekst i Andeby is the debut novel by Norwegian author Audun Briseid (b. 1948). It is about growing up on Rektorhaugen (nicknamed Andeby, which is the Norwegian name for Duckburg) and Tåsen, two streets in Oslo. First issued in 1971, this is Gyldendal’s paperback edition from 1972.

The cover is credited to Peter Haars (1940–2005), a German-born designer and illustrator who moved to Norway at the age of 22. Over his career, Haars designed nearly 300 book covers for Pax Forlag and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. In 1983, he co-founded the Norwegian Association of Illustrators (the precursor of Grafill). Four years later, he became the first professor of graphic design and illustration at the State Academy of Art and Design in Oslo.

Just like with his design for Spionen som elsket sin neste from 1967, Haars used a typeface that was exclusive to New York typesetting service Photo-Lettering: Sanditype was drawn by Steven Bernstein and added to the PLINC library around 1969. The bold amorphous caps with the small circular counters are contrasted with Futura Light.
