Elektro Magazine, issue 1
Elektro Magazine is created for all the people interested in the world of artificial intelligence and new technologies. It mainly approaches copyright and ASCII images, AI working independence, Neo-Luddites, and the meaning of originality and copy as some of the principal topics. The articles are principally around art and design. However, it also visions how these tools are used in other ambits such as education or our day-to-day tasks.
ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) permits to create images from text. These images try to propose a question: what is a real image and at which point something that is manipulated starts being something new?
This publication includes articles and interviews with designers related with these new ways of working such as Andrew Maynard, Jannis Maroscheck, Roxy Zeiher, Jorge Calvo and Refik Anadol. Each respondent answered questions such as “Do you think that letting the machines work by their own could result into more creative outcomes?” or “What does originality really means?”
The tile is set in Serifbabe, subtitles and body text in Apfel Grotezk, and questions from the interview in TWK Lausanne.
